GHK-Cu face serum, hair serum and body lotion showing different copper peptide concentrations

What Percentage of GHK-Cu Should a Serum Contain?

My Store Admin

One of the most common questions surrounding copper peptide products is simple:

What percentage of GHK-Cu is best?

Unfortunately, the answer isn't simply "the highest number available".

Is a higher GHK-Cu concentration better?

Not necessarily.

Concentration is only one component of a cosmetic formulation.

A good formula also has to consider:

  • how the product will be used
  • where it will be applied
  • stability
  • supporting ingredients
  • texture
  • frequency of application
  • tolerability

Comparing products purely by percentage can therefore be misleading.

Is there a clinically established ideal GHK-Cu percentage?

There isn't one universally accepted cosmetic concentration that has been established as the ideal strength for every topical use.

That means statements such as:

"1% is the perfect amount"

or

"3% is clinically proven to be three times more effective"

should be approached cautiously unless they're supported by evidence for the specific formulation and use being discussed.

See what to expect with topical GHK-Cu serums.

Why might face and scalp formulas use different concentrations?

They're different environments.

A face serum needs to work comfortably within a skincare routine and may be applied morning and evening.

A targeted scalp serum has different application requirements.

A body lotion needs to spread across a substantially larger surface area while performing the moisturising function expected from a lotion.

That's why concentration should be considered in the context of the complete formula.

What concentrations does Cu⁺ use?

Our current topical range uses different GHK-Cu concentrations depending on the product.

Face Serum - 1.5% GHK-Cu

Designed as a concentrated leave-on facial serum and combined with Hyaluronic Acid, Argireline and Syn-Ake.

Hair & Scalp Serum - 3% GHK-Cu

Our highest-concentration GHK-Cu formula, designed specifically as a targeted leave-on scalp serum alongside additional hair and scalp peptides.

Body Lotion - 0.2% GHK-Cu

Designed to combine copper peptide skincare with everyday moisturisation over a larger area of the body.

Shampoo and Conditioner - 0.1% GHK-Cu

Rinse-off products designed to complement the leave-on scalp serum as part of a wider hair care routine.

So which GHK-Cu product should you choose?

Rather than asking only:

Which has the highest percentage?

ask:

What am I actually trying to use it for?

For the face:

Start with a facial product specifically formulated for that purpose.

For targeted scalp care:

A leave-on scalp serum makes more sense than simply choosing a facial product because its percentage is high.

For body skincare:

A lotion allows the product to be distributed comfortably across a much larger area.

Concentration isn't everything

Transparency matters.

Knowing the concentration is useful because it allows you to understand what you're purchasing.

But percentage should be considered alongside:

formula + application + ingredients + consistency

rather than treated as a standalone measure of quality.

The bottom line

There isn't one universally established "perfect" GHK-Cu percentage.

Different concentrations can make sense for different products and application areas.

Rather than chasing the biggest number available, look for a transparent formulation designed specifically for how and where you intend to use it.
